Goals

To become better artists through sharing the experience of plein air painting.

To step out of our individual boxes: challenge yourself to show up at locations you might not normally be interested in painting. Not everyone will be happy with all of the locations, but it becomes a challenge to paint the unknown. As painters we need to step out of our boxes, get out of our comfort zone, learn something new, and challenge ourselves. If you are new to plein air painting, this may be the case at all the locations, so give yourself a pat on the back for getting in there and trying! We're all going to keep learning and improving together! We might learn a mix of a new color that screams "sun" , a brush technique to express fog, etc., so it is always beneficial to try something new and uncomfortable at times.

Friendship: friends who can see the miracle in every morning that they feel a need to capture it for tommorow because yesterday will never be again.

Encouragement: when you feel your just another person using up another day to get to tommorow and another person can see your potential and pushes you to do your best.

Understanding: that your not a crazy person for seeing the awe in the change of seasons and the shades of life that we have been guilty of ignoring in our everyday spent

Tenacity: to learn to see every problem and know it is a challenge and obstacle not a wall that you turn away from. There is more pleasure in overcoming an obstacle than retreating rested from a defeat.

Respect: for the people around you who's words are worth their weight in gold because you can learn more by listening than wasting energy in failures

Challenge : to accept your weakness and know what you must do to overcome it with practice and mistakes

Humility: when you know your strengths and choose to take the hard subject because you will be a better artist by failing miserably and moving forward.

Creativity : an understanding that every person can paint the same subject but will always turn out a different and unique piece of art that is worth more because of its rarity.

Strengths: to overlook cold weather, sunburn, wind burn, runny nose, bumble bees, sore body parts, tired eyes, mosquitos and everything else because you know its a small price to pay today for capturing that instant for tommorow and forever in a frame.

Positive outlook: to know that success has let you win with one challenge and obstacle today, but will show you how easily you fail tomorrow and you still accept that challenge.
